Durwin A. Long, Ph.D., is the assistant dean for executive and professional development in the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas. In his role he leads the development and delivery of leadership-development programs for individuals, corporations, and nonprofits. Long has more than 25 years of experience working in marketing, consulting, and higher education. Executive education and professional development programs offered by St. Thomas build the leadership capacity of individuals and the organizations they serve. Each year, more than 3,000 participants benefit from one of more than 200 non-degree and certificate programs offered through the Opus College of Business. Programs are led by researchers and scholars from the Opus College of Business as well as by practitioners and business leaders who can provide participants with new knowledge and skills that they can immediately apply in their jobs and careers. Programs are offered at convenient times and locations, including the University’s downtown Minneapolis campus, satellite campuses in Bloomington and Maple Grove, and the Gainey Conference Center in Owatonna. Corporations and nonprofit organizations can also benefit from custom educational programs designed to meet the unique needs of employees on a wide range of topics designed to build leadership skills and business acumen.
